Jonathan WHITAKER b.c.1690 d. 1763 N.J. married Elizabeth JERVIS b.1696 Long Island, N.Y. died 1764 N.J. Jonathan Whitaker lived in Huntington, Long Island, N.Y., and Somerset Co.New Jersey. His son Eliphalet Whitaker, head of my line migrated to Burke Co.(later Jefferson Co., Ga.) where he died before 1817. From there descendants went to Talladega Co, Alabama and from Alabama to Cherokee Co., Texas.
Jonathan Whitaker is said by some sources to have been the father of Phoebe b. 1716 and Mary b. 1719 and they were listed as Mary and Phoebe Whitaker. They were, however, daughters of Eliphalet Jervis, and Elizabeth Phoebe Whitaker and were, most probably the stepdaughters of Jonathan Whitaker, Sr. Two children, Sarah and Isaac Whitaker probably died young as we find no further mention of them and they are not mentioned in the wills of either Jonathan or Elizabeth Whitaker.
Henry Landrum b. 1795 in Edgefield Co., South Carolina migrated to Mississippi before 1820. Some of the children of his son Linson B. Landrum of Jones Co., Mississippi went to Angelina Co., Texas.
