12. ISAAC LEWIS4 GLASS (ELDER LEWIS3, JOHN2, JOHANN MATTHIAS1) was born December 13, 1833 in Columbiana County, Ohio, and died September 29, 1903 in Columbiana County, Ohio. He married REBECCA UMBAUGH August 21, 1859, daughter of ADAM UMBAUGH and CATHERINE. She was born June 02, 1832, and died February 28, 1892 in Columbiana County, Ohio.

Notes for ISAAC LEWIS GLASS:
It is not known whether Isaac and his wife Rebecca, were both baptized on May 29, 1860, as notes in the Glass family Bible indicate, however it was the practice of the German Baptists (Church of the Bretheren) to administer adult baptisms. 1860 was the year that Elder Glass, Isaac's father, became the overseeing minister of the Reading Church and he may have led his older son and daughter-in-law to affirm their faith in Jesus Christ with baptism.
The Columbiana County recorders office at Lisbon documents that Elder Lewis Glass deeded a portion of Section 35, Knox Twp. to Isaac Glass in 1858. No doubt farming and housekeeping were the occupations of Isaac and Rebecca respectively.

John William Glass served in the Civil War in the Ohio Voluntary Infantry 105th Regimental Company D from Bayard West Township. Called after Aug. 14, 1862, promoted to Corporal. He was mustered out June 26, 1865.
