I originally started researching my family in order to leave this information for my children. I remembered being told a lot of things but unfortunately I didn't remember most of what I was told. I decided that my children would know even less when I was gone. I set out to record what I knew which turned out to be very little. From there I started finding out what other people knew and then searching records and census. I visited local cemeteries and took pictures of tombstones that had any name that I had ever been told that we were kin to. I discovered a few places on the internet that I could find information. Now my husband asks me, "If something happens to you what do you want me to do with all of this stuff?" I was born a Bartlett. Other family names are Green, Wallis, Braddy, Anderson, Shackelford, Bullock, Wells, McKinnon. The most fun I have had was with the McKinnon research. I think it is because I knew so little and discovered all of it all by myself.
