Merten of Ferndorf, no surname given, appears at Ferndorf, Nassau - Siegen, Germany between 1531 and 1549.He appears in the lists of those owing feudal dues (Dienstgeld), and was probably born circa 1500 / 1510. As 'Merten zu Pherendorf' was still living there in 1553 and 1554, when he received and paid out 3 Guldne in customs dues (Zoll), showing that he was connected with the customs service.He was dead by 1563 when in the special tax he was suceeded by his son Martins Heintz of Ferndorf.
