Nimrod Hooper from Shelby County. Offence: Negro stealing. Sentence: 15 years. Was received 16 Nov 1836. He is 49 years old, 5' 8" high, weighs 155 lbs. Has blue eyes, dark hair, sandy beard, good countenance, full chest. His right hand was caught in a mill wheel and left some scars. Two large scars on the right leg, from biles [sic, probably should be piles] A bullet passed into his right arm, just below the elbow and remains in the lower part of the arm, where it can be seen and felt. Also a small scar on the same arm, up and down the arm. He was born and raised in Davidson County, Tennessee on White's Creek. Wife dead, children lives in this county. [Ledger 45, page 72].

Nimrod Hooper, age 49, born in Tennessee, occupation: laborer. Convicted of Negro
stealing by a court in Shelby County, and sentenced to 15 years in the Penitentiary.
Received Nov. 16 1836 and discharged Mar 3, 1846. General pardon by A. V. Brown
