Like many other Americans, I am curently researching my heritage. According to family stories, two brothers (one 19 and one 5 years of age)left France during the French Revolution. They came to the United States by way of New York. One of these two brothers was either my Great-Grandfather or Great-Great-Grandfather. His name was George Nelson LaSage. With him my family heritage begins on my fathers side.

My mothers side is less clear. Julio Murillo Sr. was my mother's father and my grandfather. He was born 20 October 1894 in Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico to Valente Murillo and Filomena Gonzales. He was brought to the U.S. at the age of six months by his aunt Santos Murillo. The Port of Entry was El Paso, Texas. They traveled to Morenci, Territory of Arizona and remained there until 1909 at which time they went back to El Paso, Texas. Then they moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico. Here a residence was established, properties were bought and homes built. Julio, Senior worked at various trades and worked for El Paso Electric Company in Las Cruces for over 20 years. In 1943 he separated from El Paso Electric Company and went to Long Beach, California to work for the Defense Department Naval Shipyard. At the end od WWII he returned to Las Cruces, NM and worked in the construction industry until his retirement.
He married Maria Mendoza Barela on 8 September 1919.
