The Lasyone family originated in France, moving to Louisiana abt. 1800. Although family members can now be found throughout Louisiana and in parts of Texas and Mississippi, the Lasyone family primarily resides in and around Winn Parish. Civil war records show three sons of the original immigrant enlisted in Natchitoches Parish using the name Laisson. Other common spellings are Laisson, Laysone, Lasyon, and Lasion. To date our research group has positively identified over 1,300 family members. Anyone wishing to share information about the family or participate in our research group is invited to contact me by e-mail. |
