The Hollas Family Home Page

Updated September 6, 2000

***
I am researching the HOLLAS/BILLIMEK/WICK/ADAMEK families from Schulenburg,Fayette County,Texas. According to the High Hill Centennial History Marker, outside St.Mary's Catholic Church, from 1860-1960 families named Schilhab,Heinrich,Bednarz, Billimek,Wick,Adamek,Hollas, and Besetsny left their native Austria sailing from Bremen, Germany on Sept. 12,1860 and arriving in Galveston, Texas on Nov. 18, 1860. From there they came by ox-wagon to Blum Hill, now know as High Hill, where they settled. High Hill is located three miles north of Schulenburg, and in between 1860- 1870, approximately 36 families settled there.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am asol willing to share information that i have as well.
