| I am a grandaughter of William Henry HODGE b: 5/08/1893 in Smyth County, VA., d:4/04/1976 in Blacksburg, VA. and Bertie Elizabeth SARTIN born in Giles County, VA., d: 6/07/1960 in Blacksburg, VA.They were married 12/02/1914 in Giles County. VA. His parents were Robert Huffman HODGE and Nancie Josephine STEPHENS. Her parents were Hughie Plyman SARTIN and Flora Elizabeth BURTON. Henry and Bertie SARTIN HODGE together had 15 children. I am willing to exchange/refer information for documentation on my family. This also includes some of the "SARTIN" side of Bertie Elizabeth SARTIN HODGE, my grandmother. Also a member of BRANCH #12, Veteran Police Officer, Robert "UNCLE BOB" Albertus Latta of Camden, South Carolina, killed on 1/22/1919, in the line of duty. This information was taken from the Camden Archives in Camden, South Carolina: The Camden Chronicle Volume xxx, Camden, South Carolina, Friday January 24,1919. LATTA BRANCH #12, LATTA PLANTATION circa 1800, is the last remaining Catawba River plantation open to the public. The 62 acre farm of James Latta, a Scot - Irish merchant, is on the National Register of Historic Sites and consists of the original home and smoke house, enhanced by eleven other outbuildings, as well as fields, farm animals, a garden,and interpreters in period clothing. Latta Plantation is located just north of Charlotte, NC.
