PENTAGON-FRIDAY NOV. 7, 1997 3A-MUSKOGEE DAILY PHEONIX---NATIONS BANK CONSIDERS SELLING BUILDING-A historic piece of Muskogee's skyline may go on sale soon. Nations Bank officals are making a decision whether to put the FLYNN-AMES BUILDING at Third (3rd) Street and Broadway up for sale, a representative of the bank's property management firm said Thursday. But the bank will continue to operate its Muskogee branch. The area Nations Bank properties are managed by LINCOLN PROPERTIES OF TULSA. Denise Piland of Lincoln Properties said she was uncertain about the buildings future. "We're working on determining what to do with that," she said. Nations Bank was the third (3rd) banking organization to purchase the building in three years. In August 1996 Nations Bank announced it was purchasing Boatmen's Bancshares Inc. Boatmen's had acquired Fourth (4th) Financial Corp. in 1995. Fourth (4th) Financial had bought Commercial Landmark Inc. in 1993, operating it as BANK IV. Earlier this year, the bank removed a metal facade that had covered the bank since 1967.
