Alfred "Alf" Garner Latham was living with his daughter; Mary Elizabeth "Latham" Dixon on the 1900 census of Webster Co., Ms.! He married Mary Aviann "Ava-Ann" Strickland, the dau. of John & Lydia Rebecca Ayres) Strickland, about 1863 in Choctaw Co., Ms.! Alf and Ava Ann had 10 children, the last born was my grandfather; James Edward Latham! He was born Apr. 3, 1884 in Sumner Co., Ms. He married my grandmother; Maggie DeLorie Shaffer Dec. 22, 1904 in Webster Co., Ms. ! They had 11 children, counting 3 set's of twin's. Maggie was born Nov. 1, 1884, the dau. of William Albert, & Mary Elizabeth "Williams" Shaffer. Edd & Maggie were buried at New Hope Presbyterian Church Cem., in Webster Co., Ms.!\

Co. K 1'st Miss. Regt. Infantry enlist'ed Aug. 28, 1861, and was discharged Apr. 26, 1865. Buried at Sapa Baptist Church Cemetery!
Pension Application dated Sept. 2, 1916, at Mathiston, Miss.! Alfred G. Latham was 72 year's old at the time of Application for a Pension. Resides in Webster County, Miss., he was one of Capt. McGuire's soldier's! He served for about a year in the Army. His Command surrender at Macon, Miss.! Alfred was living with his daughter; Mary Elizabeth "Latham" Dixon! His pension was probated at Walthall, Miss., Sept. 9, 1916.

Alfred Latham was on the Company Muster Roll in Choctaw County, Miss.! Dated Apr. 30, 1864 - June 18, 1864!

A. G. Latham was 69 during his Pension Application, lived in Eupora, Webster Co., Miss. He resides in Choctaw Co., Miss.! Enlisted in the last year of the War! His Commander was General Nathan Bedford Forrest. And, Captain McGuire! He served about 7 month's. His Command surrandered near Memphis, Tenn.!
