She was born Abt. 1775 in Newberry Dist., South Carolina, and died Aft. 1812 in Newberry Co., South Carolina. He married (2) PRISCILLA HOPKINS Abt. 1844 in Perry Co., Ala., daughter of JOHN HOPKINS and ELIZABETH AUTRY. She was born 1796 in South Carolina, and died Aft. 1880 in Milam Co., Texas.

John Frederick Shaffer died in Perry Co., Alabama in 1859, leaving no will, but he left what was a large Estate in that period, his son John Frederick Shaffer Jr. was named administrator and he was bonded in the amount of $35,00.00 This bond was secured by Robert Watson Barton and wife Martha Caroline Shaffer Barton (daughter) and wife Priscilla "Hopkins" Shaffer, widow of deceased Dec. 1859 term of court Book I page 172 heirs as follinging ; William Shaffer, (son), Susan and Jesse Greene, Mary A.
