2. CHARLES² DUSTHAMMER (JACOB¹ DORSCHEIMER) was born September 14, 1765 in Philadelphia PA., and died January 29, 1844 in Coshocton Co. Ohio (Source: LDS film #0928173 Cemetery Records of Coshocton Co., Ohio Vol. 2, Charles Dusthammer January 29, 1844 at 84 years. .). He married CATHERINE KAST Abt. 1785 in Probably Virginia or Maryland. She was born Abt. 1763 in Maryland (Source: (1) 1850 Ohio/Coshocton Co./Keene Twp., living in the household of Abraham Courtwright., (2) Obituary 1859.), and died June 1859 in Coshocton, Ohio.

Notes for CHARLES DUSTHAMMER:
From "Pennsylvania Births - Philadelphia Co. 1644-1765" Dorscheimer, Carl Philip 14 Sept. 1765, Father - Jacob, Mother - Clara. The name Carl is the German form of Charles, and the name has been interchanged in many of the records. CD#166 - Selected PA. births give bapt. date of Sept 22, 1765 age 8 days - named Carl Philip.

No document has been found to prove a relationship between all of his stated children, but evidence is overwhelming to that fact. The eldest daughter, Elizabeth has been proven, as the grandparents, Carl and Catharine (Kast) Dursthimer witnessed the baptism of her first son. It is known that Charles Dusthammer lived in Loudoun Co. VA where some of his children were born and that he went to Rockingham Co. VA sometime between 1800-1804. He was in Newcomerstown, Tuscarawas Co. OH around 1809. It is also known that he left there and settled in Keene Twp. Coshocton Co. Ohio about 1817. He purchased land there in 1819 and remained in the same place until 1839 when he sold his land to Abraham Courtright (husband of daughter, Margaret). In 1830 the census listing for Charles Dusthamer showed one male and one female, each age 60-70. The year 1840 found him and his wife, Catherine, living in the household of Abraham Courtright (listed as ages 70-80).

Charles died 29 January 1844, age 84 yrs. He is buried in the Keene Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Keene Township. This information is on LDS film# 0928173 Vol 2, page 102, Cemetery Records of Coshocton County, by Helen Meredith. [If the burial stone was misread and should read d. 1849, then the birthdate of 1765 would be correct].

Notes for CATHERINE KAST:
Catherine was 83 yrs. old in 1850, living in the household of Abraham Courtright, in Coshocton Co. She was listed as "Dusthmn". In 1860, the Courtrights were in Linton Twp., Coshocton Co. Catherine was listed on the 1860 Mortality Schedule of Linton Twp., having died June 1859.

Newspaper obituary June 29,1859 "Coshocton County Democrat"
"Died- At the residence of Abraham Courtright in Linton Township on Saturday. June
18 (1859), Catherine, widow of Charles Thurstheimer, aged 96 years. Mrs.Thurstheimer
was born in Maryland, emigrated to Tuscarawus County, Ohio in 1810 and removed to
Coshocton County in 1816, where she continued to reside until her demise, retaining her
eyesight , and all her faculties in a remarkable degree to the last moment.
Thus are the early settlers passing from our midst. A few more, and they will all be
gathered to their Father."

	iv.	SARAH DUSTHAMMER, b. Abt. 1800, Virginia; m. GEORGE WEILAND/WHEELING, March 24, 1818, Coshocton Co. Ohio.

Notes for GEORGE WEILAND/WHEELING:
Married records give the name of Weiland. Another possible spelling may be Wheeling. On the 1830 Coshocton Census, George Wheeling was recorded on page 58, between John Grim and George Bible. Ages of the adults and children could very well be the correct family. At that time they would have been married 12 years. Children were: 1girl 10-15, 2 girls and 1 boy 5-10, 2 boys under 5. Adult ages were: Husband 30-40, wife 30-40.
