My family backtrack begins in Los Angeles county Ca. In the 1940's the family moved to California from Oklahoma. Much of the family was located in Mounds, Sapulpa, Tulsa and Locust Grove. Prior to migrating to Oklahoma during the depression, the family was located in Powell Mo. for several generations. The earliest know ancester is Melvin A. Laughlin who as we understand, came to Powell from Kentucky through Indiana settling in Powell approx. 1839.

There is a family chapel "Laughlin chapel" and cemetary at Powell and a family cemetary in Mounds Oklahoma
