      3. Violet Estelle MacDonald, born Mar 02, 1902 in Merrill, Wisconsin; died Oct 20, 1978 in Canon City, Colorado, Buried @ Morrisburg Cemetery, Panora, IA.. She was the daughter of 6. James Orrington MacDonald and 7. Myrtle Anna Allender.

Notes for Eddie Forrest Cross:
Eddie was 37 years old when his father died, and 46 years old when his mother died. Eddie had an 8th Grade education. Farmer. He retired from Meredith Publishing Company in Des Moines, Iowa, moving to a Lost Island cabin on the lake and to a small home near Emmetsburg, Iowa. The moved then to Agency, Iowa where they lived in good health until he had a stroke leaving him paralyzed after working on his car on a hot afternoon. He died at home, surrounded by his family; it was his daughter Kay's 39th birthday. The funeral was held in Ottumwa, Iowa with burial at the family plot in the Morrisburg Cemetery.

From Mom's old Bible: Violet E. MacDonald of Savanna, Illinois and Eddie F. Cross of Panora, Iowa, were united be me in the bonds of Holy Matrimony at Savanna, Illinois, 26th of August, 1922, in the presence of Gordon MacDonald. Violet was ten years old when her father died, and was twelve years old when her mother remarried. She was 73 when Eddie died, and went to live with her daughter, Kay Caley's family in Colorado for three years before she died.

Notes for Frank Ora Cross:
Frank's middle name: "My name was Frank Ora Cross on my birth certificate...Mom intended it to be Orrie because that's what they called her Dad. She didn't know at the time that her Dad's real name was Orrington. The doctor who a month or so later filled out the birth certificate mispelled Orrie to Ora. . . . Jeanie (Frank's wife) thinking my middle name was Orrie, used that spelling for Paco's (Frank, Jr.) middle name. So Paco is Frank Orrie Cross, Jr. Paco still mentions, when it comes up, that he's not really Jr. because of that incorrect spelling."
Frank's work with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company took him and his family to many parts of the world, Mexico, Japan, India and more. After his retirement they traveled in their Bounder Motor Home for many years. After the death of his wife, Jean, he purchased a semi-truck and drove cross country with his daughter, Cindi, for many years. He retired for the second time at age of 76. He loves music and played his saxaphone as he traveled in the semi, as well as for a pleasant pastime.

"Lottie Jean Cross" went by her middle name most all of her life. She is "Jean" to the family. She was named after our Grandmother Lottie (Hudson) Cross.
