I have been researching my family tree for a few years and have collected quite a bit of data, with help from family members, books, family records and the internet.I would like to hear from others interested in the Gesner family and will share my information. My full name is Lottie Elizabeth (Bette) Gesner Law.I am a descendent of John Henry Gesner, whose parents, Johann Hendrick Gesner (1681 - 1745) and Anna Elizabeth Smith, came from the Rhineland area of West Germany and settled in Tappan, Rockland County, New York, USA, in 1710. John Henry Gesner (1725 - 1811) m. Femmetje (Famitcha?)Brouwer (Brower?/Brauer?)(1723 - 1788);their son, Abraham (1756 - 1851) m. Elizabeth Steadman (1767 - 1848);their son, George Provost (1812 - 1882), m. Phebe Young (1818 - 1882);their son, George Rowland (1851 - 1916), m. Annazetta Hazelwood (1856 - 1910);their youngest child, Willard Rowland Hamilton (1894 - 1959), m. Jessie Beatrice Lewis (1922 -)."Willie" (aka 'Bill' to those outside the family) and Jessie are my parents. I was born in Middleton, Annapolis County, in 1945 and grew up in Belle Isle, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada.I am the eldest of 6 children: myself, Ruth, (Linda , Gail, Patricia - triplets), David.I married Norman Alstair Law (1938 -), born in Powell River, British Columbia, Canada, in 1962.Norm was a member of the RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force, as it was known then).We have 2 sons, one of whom is a member of the Canadian Military, and 4 grandchildren. Norm and I are retired and live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with our cats, Amber & Kira.We are both gathering genealogical information about our families and enjoy doing so.I have had contact with members of my Gesner family, adding to my database, and now have about 1600 names.My names include Hazelwood, Pineo, Covert, Sabean/Sabin/Sabine, Lewis, and many more.

This was my first school (grades 1 - 6).I remember the outhouses (1-girls; 1-boys) and there was no water - we had to carry it from a nearby farm.There was a girl's entry (left) and a boy's entry (right) and huge blackboards on the walls.The teacher's desk was on a raised platform at the front of the room - she could see the whole roomful of pupils that way.A huge wood stove stood in the middle of the room with the desks arranged in three rows around it.The younger pupils sat at the front while the Grade sixers sat in the back of the room. - Willard R.H.
