I am interested in Conrad, Coppin, Cross, Gauthier, Heffers, Hinehan, Hotchkiss, Hudon, Lawson, Miller and Williams. My father, William Edward Coppin, and my uncle, Percy Coppin, were Barnardos Children and were sent to North America about 1889. Percy was adoped by the Lawson family of Amherst Island, Ontario while my father was sent to Joy, near Rochester, New York. He, took, took the Lawson name officially in 1914 to avoid further confusion. My paternal Grandparents, John William Coppin and Elizabeth Ann Miller were married in Streatham, England, in June 1874. John William emigrated to Rochester, New York, in the late 1880s or 90s, while Elizabeth followed in the 1900s, possibly as Elizabeth Ann Johnson. My maternal grandparents, John Williams and Sarah Ann Cross, were born around 1870 in Wales/England, possibly in Herefordshire. My mother, Florence Susan Williams was born in Leintwardine, Herefordshire, in 1899. I believe that John died in the UK and that Sarah Ann remarried William Hotchkiss. The family moved to Dorion, Ontario, Canada around 1910. My wife's parents were Louis Hudon and Annie Gauthier of Chicoutimi, Quebec. I am particularly interested in information pertaining to my Coppin and Williams ancestry.
