OSEPH LAWRENCE:
Admitted a Freeman 16 May 1672. appointed an executor of his father's estate and held lands in Groton.

Joseph as his father, John, and brother, Nathaniel, was an original proprieter of Groton having a five-acre right.

His Vplands. First, twenty one acre, mor or lesse, bounded south west with the land of James Parker, and on all other poynts by the town's common.
In Medow. Three acres, mor or lesse, lyeing in Halfe Moone Medow, bounded south by the medow of James Parker, west by the medow of Timothy Allen, east by the smith's, north by the vpland.
2ly In Hawtree Brook, fiue acres, mor or lesse, lyeing on both sides the brook, bounded south by the medow of James Parker and the high way, east by the medow of John Nutten, north by the town's vpland, and on all other poynts by the brook, and the town's common.
Reuised, compared, and confirmed by the Select men, according to the order of the towne.

ENOCH2 LAWRENCE (JOHN1, HENRYA, JOHNB, JOHNC, JOHND, ROBERTE, JOHNF, THOMASG, JOHNH, NICHOLASI, ROBERTJ, ROBERTK, JOHNL, JOHNM, JAMESN, ROBERTO, ROBERTP)108,109,110 was born 05 Mar 1648/49 in Groton, Middlesex, MA111, and died 28 Sep 1744 in Groton, Middlesex, MA112. He married RUTH [SHATTUCK] WHITNEY113,114 06 Mar 1676/77 in Watertown, MA115,116, daughter of JOHN WHITNEY and RUTH. She was born 15 Apr 1645, and died Sep 1718.

NOCH LAWRENCE:
Wounded in fight with indians 1694

Lawrence, Enoch, 1649 - 1744, Watertown and Groton, Mass. Soldier in Captain Nicholas Paige's Troop, King Philips's War, 1675. In garrison at Groton, 1691-2, and badly wounded in a fight with the Indians, July 27, 1694, King William's War. In 1702 the Provincial authorities granted him immunity from taxation, and a pension of ce3 sterling, yearly, on account of physical disability contracted as above.

Two other of John's sons, Peleg and Enosh lived at Groton and had families.

Growing in-line library, genealogy library.com, "Electronic," New England Families Genealogical & Memorial: 3rd Series, Volume lll, pg 1345, Enoch, son of John Lawrence, was born in Watertown, March 5, 1648/49. He married March 6, 1676-77, in Watertown, Ruth (Whitney) Shattuck. Soon after he married he settled in Groton, in the north part of town. He was surveyor of highways, tithingman and fence viewer, and in 1691 hog reeve.

Ruth was daughter of John and Ruth Whitney and the widow of John Shattuck.
Her husband, John Shattuck, was drowned in crossing Charleston ferry, Sept 14th, 1675
