She was born 1572 in Cranfield Parish, Bedfordshire County, England, and died May 03, 1653.

Raymond David Wheeler untangled the Concord Thomas Wheeler s in "The Wheeler Genealogy", 1993. The trouble started wi th Thomas Wheeler b. ca. 1560, d. 1634/35 in Cranfield, Bed fordshire, England. He married twice, and named sons by ea ch wife Thomas Wheeler. Thus there were half brothers name d Thomas Wheeler in Concord from about 1638 to about 1644 , when the oldest brother moved to Fairfield, Connecticut . The older brother, b Cranfield abt 1588, is called Thoma s Wheeler, Sr. by most genealogists. The younger, bapt. Cr anfield 8 Dec. 1621 is Capt. Thomas Wheeler. Both Thomas S r. and Capt. Thomas had sons named Thomas, with Thomas Sr.' s son (Sgt. Thomas Wheeler) of nearly identical age to Capt . Thomas Wheeler, and living in Concord until his death (Sg t. Thomas' death, that is) in 1704. Sgt. Thomas Wheeler ma rried Sarah Merriam. Another Wheeler of Concord, George, a lso had a son Thomas who Savage also confused with Capt. Th omas. The Alice Wheeler who died in 1641 was the daughte r of Thomas Wheeler, Sr. and Anne Halsey, not Capt. Thoma s Wheeler.

"Rebecca was the second wife of Thomas Wheeler, born 1561 , according to Raymond Wheeler "The Wheeler Genealogy" an d M. Wheeler Molyneaux "The Wheeler Family". Thomas bor n about 1591 was the son of his first wife who is unknown . Another Thomas born 1620 was the son of Thomas and Reb ecca.

George Wheeler and Katherine Pin were among the early settl ers of Concord. They both lived out their life at Concord . Thomas Wheeler B.1620, The son of Thomas Wheeler and Reb ecca, was one of the early settlers of Fairfield moving the re from Concord. The Wheeler Family in America by A. G. Wh eeler, The Wheeler Genealogy by R. D. Wheeler and The Wheel er Family by M. Molyneaux have well research history of th e children of Thomas and Rebecca and none list a son name d George. The three Thomas Wheelers of Cranfield as well a s the multiple Thomas' of New England have made this a rea l difficult problem. I am inclined to believe the Wheeler G enealogy is correct. " ++++++++++++++++++++ Steve Wheele r wrote 4/2/98 "I wish I could, but I do not have informati on about the parents of George Wheeler of Concord. Here i s what Florence Wheeler (librarian in Leominster, Mass, 190 2-1950, and former Wheeler genealogist) had to say on thi s subject, abt 1950:
"Owing to the confusion in the numerous Wheeler fam ilies in Concord, Mass and the duplication of names in Cran field, England, George Wheeler's back- ground is uncertai n . In the July, 1937 issue of the American Genealogist, a n article by Mrs. William Anderson, with comments by Donal d Lines Jacobus refutes previous suppositions. Here, the y quote the will of Thomas Wheeler, the Elder, of Cranfield , in which this George is not mentioned, and on that groun d he is no longer assigned to this family. Aside from thi s one item, the information given by Mr. Homer W. Brainar d previously (July, 1935, American Genealogist) is accepte d." My e-mail was directed solely at the parentage of Georg e of Concord (d. 1687), which was listed in a previous e-ma il as Thomas. I believe this was accepted until this 193 7 article was researched and published. This information s upersedes both Brainard and Albert Gallatin Wheeler's works ."
