I am researching JAMES B BROWN born abt 1825 maybe Ohio. I do not know his parents. He married MARY MILLER March 30, 1848 in PA or Ohio Co. VA. She was born in Washington Co. PA in 1831. The family is listed in Ohio Co. VA in the 1850, 1860 census, they are listed in the 1865 IL state census in Pike Co. Griggsville. In 1870, Mary and the children are in Pike IL but James is not listed. James is listed in the 161th Militia WVA, Capt. John B Coulter's Co. H Sept. 1862. He may have enlisted in another unit for the Civil War but I have been unable to find which one. I have been uable to find any of this family in the 1880 census and don't find them again until 1900.

Their children LEWIS CASS B.1849, JAMES b. 1853, JOSEPH b 1851, Mary J (Jennie) 1858. Lewis lived his life in Griggsville IL, he died in 1920. I have very little on James, he is living with his mother in the 1900 IL Griggsville census and is listed as WD. Joseph died before 1900 and Jennie died 1921, she was never married.

Mary's parents, Joseph and Sarah and their children were born in Washington Co PA and are listed in the 1850 census in Ohio WVA, 1860 Donegal Washington PA, 1870 to 1900 in Pike IL.

Lots of questions on this family, any help would be appreciated.
