I am researching the Reichel Family who emigrated to America mid-nineteenth century from Germany. First generation American was Carl (Charles) Oswald Reichel who married an Irish woman, Mary McKenna. They settled in Pike Co., Pa and were of the Moravian Faith. My Blitz ancestors also came from Germany and settled in Pike Co., Pa. Christian F. Blitz and his wife, Theresa Mary Wilnoe/Wilnow were of the Moravian Faith. George Blitz, son of Christian, married Emma Mary Reichel, daughter of Charles and Mary Reichel. George and Emma had a daughter, Theresa Mary who married George Newhart Biggs, from Stroudsburg, Monroe, Pa. George Newhart was the grandson of George William Biggs and Lucinda Marvin who came to Monroe Co., Pa around 1850 from Sussex Co., N.J. George Newhart was also a descendent of Peter Newhart/Neyhart/Neuhard who was the 5th son of George Frederick, the German immigrant who came to America from Rumbach, Germany in 1737 and eventually settled in Northampton Co., Pa. |
