I am researching the LAWSON family from Harrison County, Clarksburg, West Virginia. William Miller Lawson is my Great Grandfather, born October 10, 1836. William Miller was married twice:
[1]. Jane Fitzhugh: children of this union; 1. Salathiel W. Lawson 2. Thornton T. Lawson 3. Sarah Idella Lawson 4. Cornelius Levvel Lawson 5. Affe E. Lawson 6. Flora M. Lawson;

[2]. Elizabeth Simons: children of this union; 1. Corbley Croner Lawson "my Grandfather", born 1875, Father of Corbley Glen Lawson, b. June 6,1919, died April 11, 1992.

2. Mardson Marcellius Lawson, born 1876 3.Miova Elizabeth Lawson, born 1877 4. Claudius Samuel Lawson, born 1879 5. George Waitman Lawson,born 1880 6. William G. Lawson, 1885 7. Mary Lawson, born 1887 8. Emma J. Lawson, born 1888.

William Miller Lawson [w] is a descendent of [Cornelius, William M. and John]. I have not documented the following; however it appears this Lawson line runs back to a John Lawson, born before 1760, he married Rebecca, also born before 1760; however I can not determine Rebecca's maiden name, nor where she and John were born. They first appeared in Virginia in 1779 when daughter Nancy was born, next appeared in Fauquier, VA than Annapolis, MD, also in Shendandoah, VA before moving to Beards Run, WV.

My paternal grand mother was Roxie Ann Newlon/Lawson, d/o Laura Ford/Newlon, wife of Payton Newlon. Laura and Payton Newlon had five children: Bruce, Roxie, Thamer, Gracie and Homer

This is an on-going work in progress. Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
