| My father came from a town in Greece called Vlahopoulos. It is a small village West of Kalamata. My name is spelled Lazarus but I know other relatives that spell it Lazaris or Lazaropoulos. I really don't know the real spelling, since the couple of relatives that I do know use different variations. My mother also comes from Greece from a small village called Ano Gianaika, which is located a little distance from Megalopoulos, north of Kalamata. Her maiden name was Stamatopoulos. They both arrived in America sometimes between 1910-1914. They got married in Dover,N.H. They both worked at the cotton mills in Dover and raised a family of five children. Two boys and three girls. My father's name was George and my mothers name was Helen. My father died in 1943 and my mother in 1980.They died in Dover,N.H. |
