I have been researching my family surname for some 30 years and over this time have gathered a wealth of info, fragmented trees from all over Scotland and the world.
I have tried to link Learmonth to one source. To this end my trees go from present to late 1100. The earliest mention I can find is for two brothers gaining land in the borders for aiding King Malcolm defeat Macbeth.
In my search I have gathered trees of all Learmonth's but could not prove a link to my own tree directly. I still hope and gather names as they are found and I append below.
Through mail I have linked a lot of the families who lived in Polmont and Bo'ness. My own grandfather talked off and lived with his distant cousins in Bo'ness in the early 1900's. But try as I might I cannot prove it as yet.
As for data I have problems and issues with births etc due to info not recorded in the 1700 or 1600. I did gather a wealth of info to 1400 to 1600.
Feel free to mail me with info or your research as it can be added to my lines or aid me in unraveling the problem I have at present. Some day it will all come together and we will have the line of one source. My trees often are amended as I gather information and are dependant on when updated. The ones you see here may not be the most up to date.
