* The Stroud Dail Ancestry Search*

Updated May 28, 2012

I created this webpage in the hopes that someone out there would be able to help me in my search for relatives of past and of course cousins of present that I might not know that I have. My family tree begins of course with my parents, J.B. Dail and Gwendolyn Stroud of Kinston, North Carolina. To date the Dail side of my family have migrated to California and Iowa and a few of us have remained in NC. My mother's family the Stroud's have seemed to stay in NC. I would love any feed back on information that anyone could contribute to bring the past together. NEW COUSINS ARE WELCOME.

I just wanted to give a big "THANK YOU" to all of the cousins who have contributed to the information and pictures that I have on my website. Fortunate for all of us, there are several cousins who have gone above and beyond to provide us all with the information we now have in our possessions. SPECIAL THANKS TO PATRICIA ARMOUR and BILL WHITE for sharing their research and photos.

Please feel free to email me if you have anything you would like to add to the site or if you have different information than I have posted on my website.

My major research focus is on the following blocks in my research
Paul Deal/Dail of Pitt County.

Lewis Messer/Mercer father of Edward Messer/Mercer of Jones/Craven County.

I am reaching to my fellow family members for a photo of Lemuel Stroud. I have photos of his brothers but I do not have one of him. Anyone willing to share it would be much appreciated.

NEW PHOTOS ADDED OF THE ISAAC STROUD CEMETARY. I have several of the gravestones added to this page. They are currently in the process of being added. They will also be added to the website. I took photos of ALL THE GRAVESITES INCLUDING THE WOODEN MARKERS. Could these wooden markers be the gravesites for Lutson Stroud died August 22, 1798, and Hannah Croom Stroud, Abel Croom Stroud. There are at least 6 wooden markers or graves marked with cement blocks. This cemetary was not easy to find. It is on privately owned farming land. Right in the middle of a corn field. And on that note I would like to sincerely Thank my cousin Ashley Stroud for not only allowing me to take the photos of the gravesites but also for taking the time to carry me and my family down to the site. Hopefully, me posting these pictures will save other researchers from having to make the same trek.

Sorry that I have neglected this page for quite a few years. I have removed the links to the old documents that I used to have on here. I will try to slowly reload them to the page. I unfortunately no longer own these documents as I had no way to keep them as they should have been kept. I just now have scanned images of them.

Please join me on my facebook page if you would like to share more photos of the family. Family is always welcome!
