From 1500-1700 my early BROWN ancestors lived in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Most of these ancestors were married at St Peter's Church Guiseley in Leeds, although this church no longer exists.

From about 1700-1900 my ancestors lived and worked at the location of the Yorkshire textile industry in such areas as Wooldale, Totties, Scholes, Cliffe, New Mill, Hepworth & Holmfirth. My great grandfather JAMES TURNER BROWN was born on 2nd November 1855 and was married to Lydia Ann Castle at Hepworth Church, Yorkshire, England on 2nd December 1876. His father was HENRY BROWN who was born in about 1820 and lived in Wooldale, Yorkshire. HENRY BROWN was married to Elizabeth Brown (nee Turner). HENRY and Elizabeth had five children: Herbert, Martha, Phoebe, Emily and JAMES TURNER BROWN (aforementioned).

I am endeavouring to extend my databank as well as to trace living BROWN relatives.
