The Rick Lechner Family (Forsthart, Germany)

My Great-Grandfather Josef Lechner immigrated from Forsthart, Germany (Bavaria) in 1905. I have traced my family tree back to Forsthart, Germany where my direct family lived in the Nieder-Bayern (Lower Bavaria) area from the late 1700's until Grandpa Josef immigrated to PA in 1905. Prior to that the Lechner family lived in the Regensberg, Germany area. My grandfather's brother Johann's family remained in the Forsthart area until the late 1960's. The Lechner's have a proud tradiiton of military service. Josef served in the Bavarian Corp under Crown Prince Rupprecht in the late 1890's and early 1900's, his son's served in the US Army Air Corp and Army in WWII, my father served in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam era, and I currently serve in the US Air Force. Other names in my family tree include Schutz, Biegl, Schindlmaier, and Ratzer. I have done research in the NiederBayern and Passau areas of Germany.
