Notes for Morse Bing: Delmer Conner told me that Morse Bing invented seedless watermelons. Claudette Flanagan told me that her mother Oenia knew how to produce seedless watermelons.
I was told that Morse Bing fathered some children before marrying Elizabeth Morgan and that the children possibly owned a steel mill in Detroit Michigan called Bing Steel Mill that burned down in the last couple of years. 12/17/2002

Marriage Notes for Morse Bing and Elizabeth Morgan: Elizabet Morgan was born in Louisiana, Morse Bing was born in South Carolina and later moved to Louisiana where they both met and moved to Marshall, Texas and Larry, Texas. They stayed in Texas until their son established a place for them to live in Chicago. They came to Chicago in 1930. Their sons left the South and came to Chicago looking for job opportunities and after being in Chicago awhile, obtained employment and sent for their parents and sisters. When Elizabeth Morgan and Morse Bing were living in the South, they taught school. The children mainly picked cotton. After coming to Chicago all the girls attended grammer school at Grant Elementary school on the West side. All attended high school at McKinley High School on the West side which is now a grammer school. All attended but only one (Nellie) graduated. The reasons for the others not completing were predjudices they were confronted with and lack of proper clothing.
