Jacob Ingold and Lehman, Jr. came into court and declared upon oath that it is bonafide(?) their intentions severally(?) of becoming citizens of this United States and to po????? ??????? and abj??? All allegiences and fidelity to any foreign premier, potentate, state and sovereignity(?) and particularly to the(?) por?? whereof they are subjects.

Monday morning, March 27, 1854, 8-1/2 oclock
Jacob Ingold and Jacob Lehman, Jr. severally(?) ???ins and(?) natives of Switzerland and free white persons came into court and p????? to the satisfaction of the court that they had severally(?) ??????? at least two years ago before competent authority the requisite(?) declaration(?) of their intentions(?) to become citizens of the United States, that they have severally(?) resided(?) in the United States for five years cash(?) ????, one year cash(?) ???? in the state of Ohio, and that during all that time they(?) have severally(?) behaved(?) as men of good moral character attached(?) to the principles of the Constitution of the United States and well(?) dispo??a to the good order(?) and happiness of the same. And thereupon the siad Jacob Ingold and Jacob Lehman, Jr. in open court have(?) made(?) a solemn oath that they will(?) serve(?) and(?) support the Constitution of the United States and that they do severally(?) absolutely(?) and entirely(?) un?????????? And objure(?) all(?) allegience and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State,and Sovereignty and particularly all allegiance to the government of Switzerland. Whereupon it is ordered(?) that certificates of naturalization issue to them on(?) payment of costs of the application.
