Notes for C
HARLES FREDERICK HARRISON:
According to 1870 census data, Charles was born in July, not in April.

According to his Mount Union gravestone, Charles was born in 1867, not in 1862.

Charles, along with brothers William and John, operated the Harrison Brothers farming operation.

According to Harold Harrison: Charles Harrison was a rather social fellow and enjoyed conversing while working. One day around 1910 Charles was working on a threshing machine and, among his other tasks on that day, was to ensure that the bearings on the thresher were well greased. Apparently, Charles was caught up in a conversation and wasn't paying close attention to the bearings on the thresher. The bearings eventually heated up - heated up to the point of catching the chaff on fire. Being that at that time, threshers generally were made of wood, the thresher caught on fire as well and was destroyed. From that time forward, Charles was reputed to be not on the best of terms with his brothers William and John.[Foote-Mozena-Bruhn.FTW]

CENSUS: At the time of the 1870 census he was 10/12 years old.

Notes for W
ILLIAM JACKSON HARRISON:
William was a twin of Lewis who died in infancy.

William, along with brothers Charles and John, operated the Harrison Brothers farming operation.

According to Harold Harrison, William's grandson: When William was about 27-29 years old (around 1902-1904), he was working on a corn shredder by himself when it became jammed. While the mechanism was still running he attempted to clear the jam by hand. He proceeded to pull out the jammed corn and chaff when the jam cleared while he was still holding on to some chaff and he did not let go soon enough. His hand was then fed in to the shredder, severing his hand at the wrist. Upon seeing her son's handless arm, Mary Harrison is alleged to have screamed so loud so as to have been heard throughout the valley, alerting the Johnsons in a near by farm that something was amiss.[Foote-Mozena-Bruhn.FTW]

RELATIONSHIP: William Harrison was the twin of Lewis Harrison.
