The Leighton Coat of Arms is officially documented in the BURK'S GENERAL ARMORY. The original description is as follows: "Quarterly, per fesse indented or and GU" When translated the Blazon also describes the original colors of the Leighton Arms as: "Divided in four, by an indented horizontal line of diversity, into two upper, golden quadrants, and two lower red quadrants." Above the shield and helmet is the crest which is described as: " A black Wyvern with it's wings spread open." This is from Halbert's Family Heritage. I don't put too much faith in the authenticity of this replication.
