Afew years ago I started to try and find many of my family members my parents and grandparents talked about so very much. I did not mean to misplace them. Iwas taught to love them, to love them without ever meeting them. As I tried to find all of of the family my parentsand family taught me to love. I was quickly noticing that many had passed away. This made me very sad. I remembered these people and cared for them very much.I remember the stories my family told of them. They had been a good part of my life. I startd to ask questions about when they died and where. I asked questions about how they lived. I went to many grave sites around the country to put flowers on these peoples graves. I started noticing that next to these people that I knew, that buried next to them were also more family members. So I started asking more questions. I got even more answers and more questions came up that nobody could answer. So I learned that I had to go to the old newspapers of the cities, and state records office.I researched old census records. Soon I was researching other countries records. With all of this research went alot of traveling around the country side. Along our visits, we noticed the graves being taken care of. We checked into the locale phone books and onto the computer address books, We started asking and telling of our family history of living in these areas in the past. Soon we found a world we did not know we would find."Cousins", Cousins and more cousins. All with love in their heart and a basic human need to want to share it. With all of these cousins we have been able to find many family roots . Thru them we have found many wonderful stories of our family tracking accross America and the world. Thru them we have found pictures we did not know existed of our early family. I have been able to research into many parts of our family tree. My fathers Leigh side and Mothers maiden, Roseberry side. Then into my fathers mothersmaiden side "Cole" side. Then into my grandmothers Wilson side. I have enjoyed the pleasure of researching up to 22 generations back on each side of my family. For me, the secert of a happy life is family get togethers. Sharing family, helping family, remembering family. Sharing the love of God. God Bless all families. |
