Notes for Christoval Pulcherie LeJeune: Baptism Sponsors: Adolphe Herisson and Celima Ledoux: Priest: Fr A. Dubourg Christoval was a farmer/ planter. He lived in the Prairie Ronde section fo St. Landry Parish, in the area very near the present day Prairie Ronde Baptist Church. While he was married he and his wife Victoria were members of the Catholic Church in nearby Chatagnier, where their first child Aimee was baptised. After Victoria died, in 1929, the family was split apart, with the children living with various relatives when Aimee could no longer care for all of them along with her family with Henry Boone. Christoval, Sr. lived with Aimee and the Boones on property they owned near where Christoval had farmed. He died while living there, and is buried in their Church's graveyard about 1/2 mile away. It is believed that Victoria is buried in another graveyard located behind the Boone property and locally referred to as the Lejeune cemetery. The Boone daughters (all in their late 60-70's in 2004) recall their grandmother being buried under the trees at the front left of the cemetery, but no headstone exists. It is further to be remembered that this period of relative poverty in the entire area resulted from the World War I, the depression, followed by World War II.
