Menville served in Co. G, 8th Reg't. VA Cavalry, CSA.He was in Cumberland Troop, 3rd VA Reg't. and was captured in 1865.He remained in prison until the surrender in 1865.
His first three children lived with his parents on 1870 and 1880 censuses.The 1910 census stated that second wife Martha had 2 children, 1 living.
He was listed in the Matriculation Book of Randolph-Macon College in Aug 1851.
Menville wrote his will in 1908 and it was probated Jan 1918.
