Updated October 12, 2009

The surname Lennox-Gordon

The Lennox-Gordons are an offshoot of the Gordon-Lennox Family of Great Britain.

The surname was turned around by my Great Grandfather for reasons still not known.

I am still in the process of investigating my great grandfathers life. Especally trying to find out who his mother was. Should anyone be able to supply any details I would be most grateful.

His Father we believe was Lord Francis Charles Gordon-Lennox who died in 1886(Main family based at Goodwood House seem to believe so) Himself a son of the Duke of Richmond and Gordon. He he became both an Actor ( Stage name Leonard Royal have a photo of him listng his name followed by RA) and a Photographer. Based in Chipping Norton where he resided at no 2 Distan lane for a while near the Church. He died in 1916 of complications after losing his leg in a motorcycle accident a year or two earler possibly returning from visiting his uncle who was renting Broughton Castle just up the road. He was possibly married twice His 2nd wife Jessie Francis (Nee Simpson)re married a 'Betteridge' and died in Bournemouth . We have very little detail re his 1st wife and family so again any info...

I am his Great Grandson My father being Cosmo Edward L-G and his Father (francis's son) is Charles Stanley L-G.

If you are a member of the family and if you have a copy of the Family tree Maker progam I will quite happily provide a copy of my family file that I have built up on and off over the years
