November 4, 1915 obituary in the "Carroll Free Press": "Mr. William M Ivey, a well known citizen who lived on route six, passed away at his home Wednesday after only a short illness, and was buried at Antioch Church Thursday with funeral services conducted by Rev. J.M.D. Stallings. Mr. Ivey is survived by his widow, one daughter Mrs. Joe Creel, of Atlanta and two sons, Mr. G.N. Ivey of route 5, and Mr. J.J. Ivey of Carrollton, all of whom have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement."
November 04, 1915 obituary in the "Carroll County Times": "Mr. William Ivey passed away Wednesday. Mr. Wm. Ivey who resides about five miles from town, died at his home Wednesday night after a long spell of typoid fever. Mr. Ivey was respected and loved by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. J.F. Creel, of Atlanta, and two sons, Mr. Josh Ivey who resides in Carrollton and Mr. Newton Ivey, who lives several miles from town, all of whom were around his bedside when the end came. Mr. Ivey was buried at Antioch Thursday afternoon. The sorrowing family have the sympathy of Carrollton where Mr. Ivey was widely known and has many friends in their hour of bereavement. Burial at Antioch Baptist Church in Carrollton, Carroll Co., GA with the tombstone, "An Honest Mans the Noblest Work of God."
