1860 Census of Campbell Co., GA, page 46, dwelling ś, family Œ, enumerated June 20, 1860, post office - Campbellton:
Mapp, William, age 25
Elizabeth, age 22
Amanda, age 2.
Note: Living immediately before the Mapp family was Elizabeth's brother, Emanuel Hattaway, and immediately afterward was Elizabeth's sister, Mrs. Mary Teal.

Military service in the Confederate Infantry:
William was a Confederate soldier in Co. A, 21st Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, also known as the "Campbell Guards." His company lost three quarters of its men in the Second Battle of Manassas and an additional 10% at Gettysburg. Only 57 men in this regiment survived to surrender at Appomattox Court House. William enlisted on July 30, 1862 and was wounded at Drewry's Bluff, VA on May 16, 1864. He died of measles in Richmond, VA.
There was also a William Mapp in 2nd Georgia Cavalry, Company "I", film &# M226_38. It is not known if William was in the cavalry before the infantry or if this is a different William Mapp.

Campbell Co., GA Deed Book "G", pages 176-177, August 25, 1868:
After her father Lacy's death, Elizabeth received 75 acres in lot in the northwest corner. Auditors adjusted the value of her land and ordered her brother, Walter L. Hattaway, to pay her $155.83.

1870 Census of Campbell Co., GA, Goods District, lists Elizabeth Mapp as the head of household.

1880 Census of Lamar Co., TX:
Vaughn, J., age 64, born in GA, father born in VA, mother born in SC
Elizabeth, age 42, born in GA, father born in SC, mother born in SC
Mapp, William, age 17, step-son, born in GA, both parents born in GA
Vaughn, William, age 5, born in TX, both parents born in GA
Vaughn, Edward, age 2, born in TX, both parents born in GA
Mapp, Sidney, age 19, step-son, born in GA, both parents born in GA.

1884, Estate Settlement of Elizabeth (Teal) Hattaway, widow of Lacy Hattaway:
In the final settlement of Lacy and Elizabeth's estate, Elizabeth (Hattaway) Mapp's portion was signed for by her brother, Walter Hattaway, indicating that Walter may have bought her interest or would get the money to Elizabeth.

1900 Census of TX
Vaughn, Eddie M., born April 1878 in TX
Vaughn, Elizabeth, "Mother", born Oct. 1830 in GA.

Although her tombstone lists her birthyear as 1835, the date would put her too close to her brother, Walter. Also, census records, if correct, indicate that her birthyear was closer to 1837.
