  More About JAMES A PATE:
Military service 1: May 03, 1863
Military service 2: 1861, Confederate soldier in Company F, Cobb's Legion, Wofford's Brigade. On June 28, 1862, he was struck in the left breast at Malvern Hill, VA. On May 3, 1863, he was injured in the left hand at the Battle of Chancellorsville.
Military service 3: December 1863, He received a head wound at Knoxville, TN that lead to loss of hearing in one ear and partial loss of sight in the left eye.
Military service 4: 1865, He was listed on the register of Ocmulgee Hospital in Macon, GA (Confederate Archives, Ch. 6, File 752, p. 323(?).
Military service 5: March 24, 1891, On his Confederate pension application, James said he had been a citizen of GA since birth and that his left hand was rendered useless by his injury. He received $25 a year pension from 1891-1894.
