Abner J. Foster enlisted in Company "E", 35th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia, "Campbell County Volunteers." He was captured at Petersburg, Virginia on April 2, 1865 and was released at Point Lookout, Maryland on June 8, 1866.
