Jefferson Gage Thurber and Mary Bartlett Gerrish were married in Monroe, Michigan March 6, 1834. After Jefferson's death in 1857, Mary Bartlett Gerrish returned to West Lebanon, NH where she married Samuel Wood September 5, 1871. Samuel Wood's first wife was Lydia Gerrish, a cousin of his second wife Mary Bartlett Gerrish. The son of Jefferson Gage Thurber and Mary Bartlett Gerrish, Edward Gerrish Thurber, married Sarah Augusta Wood, the daughter of Samuel Wood and Lydia Gerrish. We are researching all the lines of Jefferson Gage Thurber, Mary Bartlett Gerrish, Samuel Wood, and Lydia Gerrish back to original emmigrants to America.Most of these arrived in the early 1600s and settled in towns such as Newbury, MA (Gerrish, Bartlett, Sewell, Coffin, Hale), Rowley, MA (Wood), Haverhill, MA (Gage, Hazeltine) and Rehoboth, MA(Thurber).The town of Boscawen, NH also is an important locality for all these families.
