The Rice and Other Families Home Page

I have been researching the RICE family. John Henry Rice was born October 24, 1823 in Athens, Green County, NY and died November 17, 1906 in Bernhard's Bay, NY. He married Jane Ann DODD on May 25, 1853. Jane was born on December 4, 1835 in Cleveland, NY and died on August 23, 1904. From John Henry Rice's death certificate I know that his father was Earle Rice and his mother was Elsie SCHMERHORN both born in one of the New England states. Jane Dodd was the daughter of John Dodd (b: 1797, d: December 12, 1871) and Jane SMITH (b: about August 1802 in England, d: December 6, 1867). John Henry Rice, Jane Ann Dodd, John Dodd and Jane Smith are all buried in Maple Flats, NY.
Another ancestoral family I have been looking into is the SWANSON family. William Swanson was born January 1, 1797 in Caithness County, Scotland and died November 1, 1883 in Camden, NY. He married Margaret LAMBIE born March 3, 1791 in Gladstone, Scotland and died July 27, 1873 in Camden, NY. They are both buried in Forest Park Cemetery, Camden, NY. I do not know their parents names but I have quite a bit of information on their descendants. I also know that they came to America in 1828.

Solomon FLEMING was born about March 1798 in Connecticut and died August 2, 1891 in Florence, NY. He married Sally ? born about November 1802 in Connecticut and died April 30, 1875. They are both buried in Grilley Cemetery, Florence, NY.

Simon GROAT was born in 1795 and died in 1881 in Florence, NY. He married Catherine HORNING, born 1800 and died 1886. They too are buried in Grilley Cemetery, Florence, NY.

Finally, John George RUSH was born 1797 and died April 18, 1862 in Camden NY. He married Elisabeth LOVENGUTH, born 1800 and died February 27, 1887 in Camden, NY. They are both buried in Forest Park Cemetery, Camden, NY.

Any information would be appreciated. I am willing to share my information.
