  What a wonderful Chanuka surprise... Mickey and Jenny arrived from Israel to spend time with Grandma and cousin Emily and other family members. (December 2000)
• Kissinger Family: David Kissinger (1860-1947) (16 KB)
  David Kissinger, my grandmother's grandfather, was a teacher of Jewish studies in Ermershausen. He and his wife, Celine Zeilberger, had seven children.
• Zeilberger:Doron Zeilberger visits Zeilberger home (34 KB)
  In Ermershausen, Germany, the house still stands with the name and date of its original owner over the doorway: Kusel Zeilberger. Kusel is the father of Celine Zeilberger Kissinger, both Doron's and my great great grandmother.
• Kissinger: Ida Friedmann (1888-Holocaust) (10 KB)
  Ida, my beautiful great-grandmother, lived in Mainstockheim with her husband, Siegbert Friedmann.

  Our December 2000 trip to the US gave us the opportunity to get a photo with the whole family together (with the exception of our dear husbands). Dad - Burt -, Mom - Lisa, Elizabeth and Patty and kids: Jenny, Emily and Michael.

  Bella Friedmann Wallach, the best grandmother in the world, is pictured here with her daughter, Lisa Wallach Levy (my terrific mother), my wonderful sister, Patty Knickle and the sweetest niece - Emily Lauren Knickle. (1998)
• Friedmann family home & Synagogue , Mainstockheim (11 KB)
  The home of my grandmother Bella in her youth was the synagogue in Mainstockheim. Her father, Siegbert Friedmann, was the Rabbi. Today the synagogue is a church. The synagogue building was saved from being burned during the war due to its closeness to the home of a Nazi neighbor.
• Levy Family: Four generations of the Levy Family (147 KB)
  Four generations of my father's family are pictured here. The youngest is one of my grandfather's brothers; next is my great-grandfather, William Levy; his father, and his father.
• Wallach Family home village of Oberaula (10 KB)
  The small Hessian village of Oberaula was the home of the Wallach family from the end of the 16th century and until the Holocaust. Generations of Wallachs, mostly cattle dealers, lived here until forced to move on. Today the Wallachs live in Israel, the US, Great Britain, Europe and South America. This photo shows the "Judenhof" - the Jewish street where many of our family lived.
• Levy Family: William Levy's gravesite (35 KB)
  William Levy, died at 57 and is buried in Roxbury, MA. He was a pioneer wholesale dry goods merchant who, together with his wife, Gussie Dubinsky Levy, were instrumental in giving a start to many Jewish merchants beginning their careers as pack pedlars with a basket.
• Katz: Jesaias Katz family store in Flieden (44 KB)
  Jesaias Katz of Uttrichshausen married Zerlina Stern of Flieden. Together they ran the Jesaias Katz general store.
• Immediate Family: Mickey is 13! (July 2000) (75 KB)
  In honor of Michael's bar mitzvah we had a poster made of a selection of Mickey pictures. They range from infancy to age 13 and capture the real Mickey... from cars to tennis to soccer to hiking... from blond to brunette... from apple juice to ema teddy... with Ema, Abba, Jenny and Doggie.
• Wallach Family: The Wallachs meet in Israel (48 KB)
  After many Wallach cousins left Oberaula, all contact was severed. After doing family research we are reunited again in Israel. Here Gila Wallach Pardo has a visit from Lisa Wallach Levy at Kibbutz Sdot Yam (August 2000).
• Levy Family: Hy and Nellie Lewis (34 KB)
  My greatgrandmother, Nellie Levine Lewis, loved to spend time at Revere Beach in Mass. Her she is with her youngest son, Hy Lewis. (About 1940s)
• Levy Family: Phillip Levy and sons, Burt and Bill (43 KB)
  My grandfather, Phillip Levy, with his two sons: Burt (my father) and Bill (William - named after his grandfather William Levy).

• Germany 2003 - Kissinger Roots trip (88 KB)
  In June 2003, my mother and I went on a short trip to Germany to visit some of the towns of our ancestors. This report tells of our adventures in Ermershausen, Nuernberg, Kitzingen, Roedelsee, Mainstockheim and Bad Kissingen. The article also gives tips for those considering a roots trip.
