The home of my grandmother Bella in her youth was the synagogue in Mainstockheim. Her father, Siegbert Friedmann, was the Rabbi. Today the synagogue is a church. The synagogue building was saved from being burned during the war due to its closeness to the home of a Nazi neighbor.
