David was a Private in 3rd Ohio Cav.(1861), 23rd Ohio Corps, wounded on 2nd day of Shiloh.Lost a finger and received a medical discharge and sent home.Later rejoined Co K, 178th Ohio Infantry in August 24, 1864 as a Sgt.Was in ill health most of his life after the war. Died of lung problems from Civil War service.Grandma Augusta was said to have been critical and harsh with grandpa in their later days.This came from the family tales of Grandma Georgia Lee Bracken.Trouble find this family in Ohio Census, Asland might have been part of Wayne or family lived nearer Cleveland.A Josiah Lee mentioned in Ashland County history as walking into Ashland County from New York through Cleveland with his young family.
