I am researching the Lewis family from Glasgow, Scotland and previously from somewhere in Central or Eastern Europe. I am also trying to find out what the family name was before it was changed to Lewis. In my grandfathers Marriage certificate to Martha Finkelstein his father (my Great Grandfather)is known as Harris Lewis, but on his death certificate his father is known as Solomon Lewis.
On my mother's side i am researching her maiden name of Linda. To date, my knowlegde is limited to My Grandfather Lazarus Linda. His marriage certificate names his father as Israel Linda and his mother as Minnie Hilkovich.
Any information/advice is very much appreciated, and of course i will be happy to recipricate where possible.
