Researching the Limebeer name in all it's various spellings: Limebeer,Laimbeer,Lymebeer,Limebery,Limebeere,Limebeare,Lymber Research thus far indicates that the name originates in Devon County, England and from Anglo Saxon background. It appears to come from the Lime Tree and when in a group or copse are identified as a Limebeer. To the best of my knowledge, the first Limebeer in Canada was my great grandfather, William, who arrived in about 1841. All Limebeer's living or who have lived in Canada are descendents of William. |
