| My earliest known Progenitor: Robert/Rob Lindsay b. ABT. 1750 (whereabouts unknown). He was married to Susan/Susanne (maiden name unknown). In Robert Lindsay's Will, 09 Feb 1821 in Campbell County, Virginia, there is a mention that if any of his family come here from the old country that his family will assist them. Rob/Robert and Susan/Susanne were the parents of William H. Lindsay b. 1785 in Campbell Co., Virginia. William married, Elizabeth F. Litchford, dau. of Arthur Litchford in Campbell Co., Virginia, Dec. 11, 1821. They are the parents of Joshua Mack Lindsay, who was born Abt. 1820 in Campbell Co., Virginia. Joshua married, Sarah Ruth (Maiden name, Unknown). Joshua Mc/Mack Lindsay served in the Confederate Army. He had a brother named James Lindsay who also served in the Confederate Army. They both enlisted as a private on April 23rd 1861. James was 24 and Joshua was 30. Both served in Company B, 11th infantry Regiment Virginia. James Lindsay Detailed on Nov. 15th 1862 (as Teamster). Both Joshua and James Lindsay surrendered Company B, 11th Infantry Regiment Virginia on April 09, 1865 in Appomattox Court House, Virginia. I also believe they had another brother named Edward S. Lindsay. Joshua Mack Lindsay had six known children with wife Sarah Ruth; (1) William H. Lindsay b. July 6, 1863 Campbell Co., Virginia, d. August 7, 1942 Mason County, Maysville, Kentucky, married Viola Trumbo, date and place (unknown). More marriages were possible. (2)) Charles L. Lindsay b. June 25, 1868. (3) Lillian B. Lindsay b. Abt. 1868, in Virginia, married, William Henry Threlkeld. Lived in Texas circa, 1943 or before. (4) Richard Mack Lindsay b. July 4, 1870 Richmond, Virginia, d. November 11, 1943 Nocatee, DeSoto County, Florida, married Sarah Ellen Lackey from Cairo, Illinois. Richard Mack Lindsay lived in Cairo, Illinois where he worked for the Illinois Central Railroad. (5) Lula J. Lindsay b. Abt. 1874 in Virginia. (6) Annie J. Lindsay b. Abt. 1877 in Virginia, married Thomas R. Simpson. Lived in Texas circa, 1943 or before. Richard Mack Lindsay, same as (4) above (1870-1943) had three known children with Sarah Ellen Lackey; (1) Charles Walter Lindsay b. March 22, 1900 Alexander County, Cairo, Illinois, d. December 14, 1966 in DeSoto County, Arcadia, Florida, buried Oak Ridge Cemetery. (2) Helen Hazel Lindsay b. February 09, 1908 Pulaski County, Mounds, Illinois, d. May 30, 1974 Sarasota County, Sarasota, Florida. (3) Jessie James Lindsay b. February 22, 1914 Little Rock, Arkansas, d. January 02, 1967 Polk County, Florida, buried Auburndale Memorial Park, married (1) Annie Mae Mercer of Hardee Co., FL on December 05, 1936 in Hardee County, Wauchula, Florida. Jessie & Annie Mae had three sons. (2) 2nd wife of Jessie James Lindsay (1914-1967) was Lois Elizabeth Frye m. circa 1950 place unknown. Jessie & Lois had four known sons. Rumor has it Jessie James Lindsay, same as (3) above (1914-1967) was married once prior to his marriage to Annie Mae Mercer and fathered a son named Robert Lindsay.
