Assume this is Agnes H. Lindinger's father based on her verbal recollection that he died in 1922 at the age of 56. Debbie found Holy Card from Mom that indicated DoD was 2/9/22.
Debbie found German wedding certificate for the February 11, 1886 marriage of Wilhelm Anton Schmitz (born May 21, 1864) to Agnes Nobel (born May 13, 1864). The wedding certificate was stamped in Gladbach, Germany.
Wedding certificate indicated that Wilhelm Anton Schmitz parents were Anton Schmitz and Maria Scherer. Wedding certificate indicated that Agnes Nobel parents were Adolph Nobel and Anna Sophia Feld.
Certificate also indicated that Wilhelm and Agnes had a daughter named Sophia Maria Schmitz, born on April 23, 1887.
From 1981 notes made by Debbie from interview with Agnes H. Lindinger (her grandmother): The first person to come over to America from my grandmother's side was my great-great grandfather William Schmitz. He came over in 1893 from Muechen, Germany. He settled in Texas where he worked with leather making harnesses, saddles and other leather items for horses. They moved to Philadelphia in the early 1900s.
