This Home Page primarily contains information on the descendants of Samuel Lingo, born about 1745 in Sussex County, DE and died in that county in 1807. He and his wife Comfort Stuart had the following children: 1. Comfort Lingo, married William Clarke; 2. John Lingo, married 1st Elizabeth Burton, married 2nd Patience Dodd; 3. Samuel Lingo, Jr, died w/o children BEF 1796; 4. William Lingo, married Patience Spears; 5. James Stuart Lingo, married Sarah Lingo; 6. Henry of Samuel, married 1st Nancy Jones, married 2nd Elizaabeth A. Reynolds 7. Louis Lingo, died w/o children BEF 1807; 8. Archilaus Charles Lingo, married Eleanor Hudson.Descendants of Samuel and Comfort Lingo either still live in Delaware, or migrated to Ohio, and from there to Kansas, Iowa, and other states.Besides the family of Samuel and Comfort Lingo, this Web Page refers to my other Home Pages which will contain information on other Lingo lines, such as: 1. Descendants of William Lingo, BEF 1655 - 1728, and Rachael Lingo, who lived on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. In 1687 William Lingo inherited 300 acres in Accomack County from his father-in-law, Richard Kellam. Later William moved to a plantation in Somerset County, Maryland. 2. Descendants of William Lingo 1750-1836, who went from Delaware to Georgia after the Revolutionary War, and whose descendants primarily live in Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida. I am interested in sharing any and all information on Lingo families, and establishing as many different lines as possible.
