My mother came from near Picton, Ontario. I would like to research more fully the Van Gesen or Vangesen lineage. They came to Canada West in the late 1830's or early 1840's from New York State. The controversy over whether they were Dutch or German is still unsolved, since I can't link them to anyone in the U.S.A.
Much easier to research is the Liston side. Related names are Mustin, Driver, Terry, and Rance. All from England and perhaps Scotland. No, I'm not related to Napoleon Bonaparte. My Dad comes from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but his parents came from London, England. Any relatives should feel free to contact me.
